A big armada of VLCCs is keeping Iranian oil flowing despite Western sanctions, shipbroker Gibsons reports.
The London shop said its database indicates at least 90 of the large tankers are dedicated to serving Iranian crude exports — about 10% of the global VLCC fleet.
The figures include the tankers controlled by Iran’s state-run NITC, which is listed with 38 VLCCs.
