The world’s biggest flag states is removing 125 ships in a “purge” linked to sanctions.
The Panama Maritime Authority (PMA) said it has officially deregistered 107 vessels listed under international sanctions, and 18 more are undergoing the same process.
The move follows an executive decree in October granting the flag the authority to unilaterally cancel the registration of ships, individuals and shipowners that appear on international sanctions lists.
