Angola’s Sonangol is said to be returning to HD Hyundai Heavy Industries for suezmax tankers.
Several shipbuilding players said the state oil company had signed a letter of intent with the South Korean shipyard for two scrubber-fitted 158,000-dwt crude carriers.
It is not known if the deal includes options.
Officials at the yard declined to comment on its activities, citing contract confidentiality.
