New US and European Union sanctions on shadow fleet tankers are likely to add to “significant” new demand for mainstream vessels, according to Fearnley Securities.
The Trump administration this week added 13 more vessels to its blacklist, with the European Union designating another 65.
The US list is targeting Iranian crude exports, and the recent additions include five VLCCs, four aframaxes, a panamax and two handysizes.
