Turkey’s Karadeniz Holding has emerged as the beneficiary of a ship sale drive by Eletson Corp, a Greek company that is shedding some of its older vessels to renew its fleet and pay down debt.
Officials at Istanbul-based Karadeniz confirmed their company has spent nearly $11.8m to buy the 72,500-dwt tanker Meganisi (built 2004).
The coated panamax tanker has been renamed Karadeniz Powership Anatolia.
