VLCC and VLOC giant China Merchants Energy Shipping (CMES) is urging Chinese state shipowners to play a greater role in Hong Kong's shipping industry.
This should include partnering with private shipowners, the South China Morning Post reported.
CMES, owned by state group China Merchants Group, argued that government-backed companies could complement the operations of private companies.
