The Connecticut-based pool operator’s chief executive, Marc La Monte, tells TradeWinds that a cargo claim involving the 156,800-dwt Karekare(built 2010) has drawn to a close after striking a deal out of court.
“The claim has been settled in full and in a timely fashion,” he wrote in an email without elaborating further when pressed for information about a case in which the tanker was accused of failing to deliver the full consignment of a fuel oil cargo that was discharged in Louisiana at the start of the month.
