For the second time in a month Safmarine has had one of its ships attacked by pirates off the Somali coast.
The 1,700-teu Safmarine Bandama (built 2007) managed to avoid capture but sustained some damage in Tuesday’s attack.
Pictures released by the NATO Shipping Centre show apparent damage to the ship’s bridge and a cabin structure caused by arms fire (see pictures below).
