Russian tanker giant Sovcomflot has penned a $200m order for a pair of supply vessels at a newly-formed joint venture shipyard in Finland.
The order for two multifunctional icebreaking units marks a swift piece of business for Arctech Helsinki Shipyard Oy which only came into existence a week ago.
The yard is a 50/50 joint venture between STX Finland and Russia’s United Shipbuilding Corp and was set up to capitalise on the arctic shipbuilding sector.
