Australia's Global Energy Ventures (GEV) needs more time to firm up a $1.2bn order for eight innovative compressed natural gas (CNG) newbuildings.
At the start of July, the company signed a letter of intent with China's CIMC Raffles to build the Optimum 200 newbuildings, with four options attached.
This gave it 90 days to complete a final contract, but in August the deadline was extended to 31 December.
