US-listed floating regasification specialist Excelerate Energy plans to buy an LNG carrier this year, which it will earmark as its first conversion candidate into a floating storage and regasification unit.
In a fourth-quarter results presentation, Excelerate said the LNG carrier will be expected to serve its gas supply business in the short term before any conversion.
