Shipowners will soon be able to get a new insurance policy that covers the increased risks of a cyber attack on their offices as well as on their vessels.
DNK, the Norwegian Shipowners’ Mutual War Risks Insurance Association, told TradeWinds the product is the result of research revealing that the main vector of cyber attacks “against companies, maritime operations and its fleet is through their complex and often poorly controlled supply chain”.
