Shipping Corp of India (SCI) managing director Harjeet Kaur Joshi has called for more women in the maritime sector at all levels.
But she warned new recruits the industry is not a soft option.
Speaking on a Ladies in Logistics webinar hosted by the Women's International Shipping & Trading Association's India chapter and India Seatrade, the state shipowner's first female boss said that although shipping has traditionally been male-dominated, it has over time become increasingly diverse.
