The New York-listed LNG carrier and regasification vessel owner paid $20m for the 127,000-cbm LNG Abuja (built 1980).
The ship was built in the United States by General Dynamics. It has traded in the fleet of energy exporter Nigeria LNG, Bonny Gas’s parent, since delivery.
Golar LNG, which is led by chief executive Gary Smith and chairman Frank Chapman, revealed the sale in its annual filing the US Securities & Exchange Commission (SEC).
