Three steam-turbine LNG carriers have been sold for scrap, bringing the total recorded to date for 2021 to seven units — the highest in years.
The bumper tally comes as LNG shipowners take a long look at the prospects for trading some of the oldest and least-efficient vessels in the global fleet.
