Players from different sectors of the shipping industry have come together to form a new organisation aimed at driving shipping towards a low carbon future.
Thirteen companies, including shipowners, oil companies and classification societies have created Global Industry Alliance (GIA), at the margins of the first meeting of the International Maritime Organisation on the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions from ships.
