Australia’s maritime authority says it will force Britannia P&I to pay up more than $10m in salvage costs to recover 60 containers that were lost from a Yang Ming Marine Transport containership in a storm last year.
In total 81 containers went overboard from the 4,250-teu containership YM Efficiency (built 2009) in a storm last year in the 1 June storm, 60 of which are now at the bottom of the sea off the Newcastle-Port Stephens coast.
