The dark fleet can no longer be considered a “temporary phenomenon” and is likely here to stay as geopolitical strife intensifies, according to SSY analyst Roar Adland.

He believes geopolitics is increasingly adversarial, illustrated by recent comments by US president-elect Donald Trump regarding the Panama Canal and US sanctions on China, plus the ongoing issues in the Red Sea.

And where the split between the mainstream and dark fleets was once widely viewed as transient, the two-tier market is now likely permanent and evolving.
