Spot rates for capesize bulkers are getting a lift from a lack of tonnage in the Atlantic Basin amid lacklustre rates over the past few weeks, according to brokers.
Their weighted time charter equivalent (TCE) rate has been on the upswing since hitting $10,295 per day on 9 December after falling almost daily from $34,298 per day on 6 October.
