The GoodShipping Program has claimed a first after helping a Samskip container vessel complete a voyage running on used cooking oil.
The Dutch green group said the 804-teu Samskip Endeavour (built 2011) was bunkered with the biofuel to carry cargo shipped by Tony’s Chocolonely, Dopper, Blygold, Magic Marine and Mystic.
The ship took on 22,000 litres of hydrotreated vegetable oil supplied by GoodFuels Marine and made from used cooking oil.
