Oman Shipping Company is seeking to acquire its first containerships.

The state-owned company wants two second-hand vessels of 3,000 teu to replace chartered units.

CEO Tarik Al Junaidi told the Times of Oman: “Each vessel is expected to cost around $10m. We are looking for second-hand vessels.”

The owner, better known for tankers, bulkers and gas carriers, already runs coastal services linking to the UAE.
