A German tanker and 22 crew members are finally free after Somali pirates left the ship with a whopping $5.5m ransom.
The 13,300-dwt chemical tanker Marida Marguerite is, however, still not believed to be in safe watrers following its release on Monday evening after eight months in captivity.
TradeWinds reported on Monday that the 2008-built ship’s release was imminent as pirates counted a ransom which was air-dropped onboard.
