The former chief executive of Oman Shipping Co is taking over at key company Masterbulk in Singapore and Westfal-Larsen Shipping in Bergen with immediate effect.
Rune Steen is quitting as head of Masterbulk and will instead be responsible for technical operation of the fleet. He will report to Fisher, who has also worked at AP Moller-Maersk. “In recent years, shipping has become and remains a tough business, but there are always opportunities for those who have managed their affairs carefully,” Westfal-Larsen said, stressing that the restructuring is not about cutting jobs.
