For six years the Swedish company has conducted the shipping business for Texaco through the joint venture StenTex. Observers expected Stena to lose its role following the merger of the two oil majors because Chevron runs its own, more extensive, shipping operation.
But a deal has now been struck that gives Stena first call in the markets it already has been handling, such as the products, panamax and aframax trades.
