Most of the British banks involved in shipfinance have significantly reduced their exposure in recent times and Petropoulos told TradeWinds: “There will be no reverse of this exodus, and Brexit will probably accelerate that of the remaining activities — and banks that have finance offices in the UK may be prompted to leave. I believe it is something they have started to think about.”
