Eletson Corp books four LR2 products tankers in China

Attractive price tag of $50m a copy lures Greek owner to Shanghai Waigaoqiao

Eletson Corp of Greece is investing around $200m in four aframax products tankers a short while after signing up for a number of gas carrier newbuildings.

Informed source say Eletson has commissioned China’s Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding (SWS) to build the 115,000-dwt long-range-two (LR2) tankers for delivery in 2017 and 2018. The deal is for three firm ships plus one option.
