Wedding bells may have been appropriate this week in Braemar Shipping’s iconic London headquarters when it announced its corporate marriage to smaller listed shipbroking rival ACM Shipping.
The elegant 19th Century former church has proven a strong brand for Braemar as it has evolved over the past 15 years. But while it has built a large shipping services operation in technical and environmental sectors, a strong brand alone has not been enough in its struggle to expand successfully and improve the performance of its shipbroking division.
