Technip has placed a $500m order with South Korea’s Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering.
The Paris-quoted subsea engineering has contracted two pipelaying support vessels for delivery in August 2014.
The ships will then be placed on long-term charter to Brazilian oil giant Petrobras.
This follows last month’s announcement of large contracts that Technip had won from Shell for installation projects in the Gulf of Mexico.
