Vopak, the Dutch tank terminal operator, plans to boost the availability of marine gasoil in Singapore ahead of the IMO 2020 sulphur cap.
The Sebarok terminal is to be expanded with another 67,000-cbm of storage to cater for the handling of the marine fuel.
“While market parties are yet deciding on how to meet the requirements, we have started to make adjustment in order to be ready for this transition and facilitate more sustainable product flows,” said Eelco Hoekstra, chief executive of Royal Vopak.
