Omar Nokta says Tropical Storm Isaac,which is expected to intensify before making landfall within the next few days,has the potential to disrupt as much as two million barrels per day (bpd) of refiningcapacity in the Gulf of Mexico.
“Should such outages occur we expect that increased demand for imported gasolinewould bolster product tanker rates in the Atlantic Basin,” he wrote in a noteto clients Monday.
