A Thai-owned VLCC looks set to be the next large tanker to head for the demolition beaches of the Indian sub-continent.

Bangkok-listed Prima Marine, part of the Nathalin group of Thailand, looks set to offload its 291,381-dwt Amity Star (built 1993).

The company is expected to divest the vessel by the middle of 2018 due to its age and in order to improve the utilization rate for its remaining vessels, according to analysts.
