Investors with green inclinations looking for opportunities in shipping might look past tankers, but that "perception isn't reality", said to Euronav chief executive Hugo De Stoop.
De Stoop said a generalist investor looking for companies good on environmental, social and governance (ESG) issues might look elsewhere in the shipping space.
"If he's interested in the maritime sector, he's potentially attracted to other types of ships which are perceived to be less polluting," De Stoop said during Seward & Kissel's 2021 Maritime Symposium, held online on Tuesday.
