The key route from West Africa to the UK and Continental Europe (UKC) saw brokers cite rates between WorldScale (WS) 53.8 and WS 57.5 Friday, from WS 51.3 to WS 52.3 yesterday.
But the day's jump was not enough to erase drops earlier in the week. Compared to last Friday, the time-charter equivalent (TCE) rate fell 10.4% on the route, bringing the so-called TD20 to $22,600 per day, according to TradeWinds' weekly tanker chartering report.
