Today, the Baltic Exchange's time charter-equivalent (TCE) estimate for the sector plunged by about $6,790, or 14.1%, to reach $41,400 per day.
The TCE rate also contrasts last Wednesday's peak of nearly $51,700 per day.
The drop came as shipbrokers pointed to talk of a Black Sea fixture at WorldScale (WS) 75, well below a recently reported fixture at WS 87.5.
