Seacor Holdings has bolstered its Jones Act tanker fleet with the acquisition of privately-owned US Shipping Corp (USSC) for an undisclosed price.
The New York-listed buyer said the acquisition positions Seacor subsidiary Seabulk “as one of the largest Jones Act tanker operators” with a fleet of 15 coastwise vessels ranging from 150,000 to 330,000 barrels of capacity.
Seabulk operates a fleet of eight US-flag tankers and an articulated tug barge, while USSC operates a fleet of six US-flagged vessels including one parcel tanker, one product tanker and four articulated tug barges.
