Ships braving the treacherous Gulf of Aden and Indian Ocean have at least one less threat to face as a VLCC suspected of being used as a pirate mothership arrives back at Somalia’s coast.
The 319,400-dwt Samho Dream (built 2002) has made it back to the notorious pirate stronghold of Garacad after recent unexplained and lengthy wanderings, TradeWinds understands.
There is no update available, however, on the state of the 24 crew or ship which was snatched in the Somali Basin on 4 April while en route from Iraq to the US with a full cargo of crude.
