The UK has beefed up its powers to target sanctions-busting oil tankers in one of the last acts of Prime Minister Rishi Sunak’s government.
The government rushed through legislation to allow individual ships to be blacklisted in response to the “growing risk posed by malign Russian maritime activity”, according to the new laws.
The move on Friday was one of the last made by the Sunak administration.
