An Okeanis Eco Tankers VLCC was involved in a near-miss drone attack off the south coast of Yemen on Friday, two weeks after a cease-fire in the country’s civil war ended.
One drone exploded just ahead of the Greek shipowner’s 300,000-dwt Nissos Kea (built 2022) during operations at the Ash Shihr Oil Terminal at 2:06pm local time (1106 GMT) and another 30 metres from its starboard side 14 minutes later, Diaplous Group said in a note.
