Norwegian tanker shipowner RFOcean is growing its fleet with newbuildings.
The Frederik Rye-Florentz-led company has inked an order for four small stainless steel chemical tanker newbuildings at China’s Wuhu Shipyard. The 6,600-dwt newbuildings will use methanol as a marine fuel.
The price and delivery date for the stainless-steel chemical tankers were not revealed, but brokers suggested the company is paying close to $20m each for the dual-fuel tanker newbuildings and will only take delivery of the ships between 2025 and 2026.
