Hope remains of a strong winter for product tanker owners despite a bleak outlook for European distillate demand.
That is the view of UK shipbroker Gibson, which expects lower industrial activity, as well as reduced road fuel demand and greater electric vehicle uptake, to hit overall fuel requirements.
“With that in mind, one might question whether underlying demand levels are sufficient to sustain a bullish product tanker market,” it said.
