Its National Iranian Oil Products Distribution Company (NIOPDC) unitwill buy the 35,000-dwt ships either new or second-hand, the Mehr news agencyreported.
NIOPDC controls 11 tankers. Sister tanker companyNITC has been blacklisted by the US over the country’s alleged nuclear weaponsprogramme.
It is not clear where the company will be able tobuild or buy the vessels due to western sanctions.
