Trading giant Trafigura has hit back at allegations that it was involved in bribery in Angola’s tanker market more than a decade ago.
The charterer and shipowner is being prosecuted in Switzerland over claims it and former chief operating officer Mike Wainwright channelled $5m to a former chief executive of Sonangol Distribuidora in return for preferential vessel chartering and bunkering deals.
