Norwegian oil major Equinor has floated a requirement for up to two ice-class dynamic positioning two (DP2) shuttle tanker newbuildings that are set to cost more than $300m in total.
Brokers said Equinor’s newbuilding deal involves one firm 156,000-dwt ship plus an option for an additional vessel. The company is said to be seeking ice-class vessels.
