The dispute involves the 156,800-dwt Karekare(built 2010) and a fuel oil cargo discharged at the St Charles Refinery in Louisiana on 2 January.
The plaintiff claims the “vessel and vessel interests” failed to deliver the full consignment as it found that over 800 barrels has been left on board.
BP is seeking over $75,000 in damages “as result of the negligence, fault, neglect, breach of contract of carriage, and bailment on the part of the defendants”, its attorneys argued.
