A small number of shipowners have placed newbuilding orders for vessels that can run on both LNG and oil-based fuels, which cost 15% more than conventional ships.
But DHT’s co-chief executive Svein Moxnes Harfjeld told an earnings call on Tuesday: “We do not think that dual fuel is the way to go.
