Cosco Shipping Energy Transportation (CSET) has become the first shipping company to sign up to dual-fuel VLCC newbuildings that will use LNG as bunkers.
Industry sources said the Chinese tanker company has upgraded one of the four 319,000-dwt crude tankers it ordered at Dalian Shipbuilding Industry Co (DSIC) two years ago into an LNG-fuelled ship.
One source familiar with the deal said DSIC is slated to deliver the vessel in late 2021.
