A Chinese-owned VLCC has left the Mediterranean after three ship-to-ship transfers of Russian Urals crude in a demonstration of the new trade patterns following a European ban on imports.
The 298,600-dwt Lauren II (built 2004) is likely heading towards China with 2m barrels of crude after the transfers off the Spanish territory of Ceuta on the north African coast within the last three weeks.
