China VLCC says it has sold two modern VLCCs to an unnamed third party for a combined price of $117.5m.

The identities of the vessels was not disclosed but are thought to be the 297,600-dwt New Coral (built 2010) and the New Medal (built 2009).

Online valuations platform Vesselvalues says the Jiangnan Changxing Shipbuilding-built ships are worth $57.6 and $54.8m respectively.

Details of the sales came in a regulatory filing to the Shanghai Stock Exchange by China Merchants Energy Shipping (CMES).
