The Chilean government has filed a lawsuit against an affiliate of Greece’s Empire Navigation demanding that it cover the costs of a 2014 spill off the country’s coast.
The State Defence Commission (CDE) filed the complaint against the registered owner of the 73,400-dwt LR Mimosa(built 2006). Stamatis Molaris-led Empire owned the products tanker at the time of the incident, though it has been sold on and renamed Norstar Intrepid.
