The carbon intensity of Chevron's shipping operations declined ever so slightly in 2020.
In its 2020 corporate sustainability report published on Wednesday, the California-based oil major said shipping accounted for 69 British thermal units (BTU) per tonne mile in energy intensity last year, one BTU per tonne mile less than in 2019.
"We set ambitious goals and strive for actions that drive measurable progress," chief executive Mike Wirth said in a statement included in the report.
